Pretty in Pink

November 22, 2008. Athens Georgia. Courtney Martin and Wesley Patton get married! It was a beautiful event with the ceremony at Athens Christian Church and the reception at The Georgian, a gorgeous historic hotel in downtown Athens.

Now only were Courtney and Wesley absolutely stunning, but their wedding party looked great outfitted in pink dresses and complementing tuxes with pink vests and ties. Along with the mostly pink flowers, it was a day I'm sure Courtney and Wesley will always remember.

But not only did every look great, but they were such a fun group of people! You can readily see from the clip below how happy and at-ease every one was with the obvious sole purpose of celebrating Courtney and Wesley's marriage.

Here is a clip highlighting their wonderful day.

Congratulations, Courtney and Wesley!

A Garden Wedding

October 18, 2008, in the beautiful gardens of Villa Christina, Liana Lyle and Shaun Dorethy were married. Not only was it a lovely ceremony, perfect weather, gorgeous setting, but it was also a fun reception. Liana and Shaun had a great group of friends and family members who enjoyed the celebration of their marriage.

Here are the highlights from their special day. Congratulations, Liana and Shaun!

Alllll-most rained out!

July 26, 2008. A warm summer day. Unfortunately, overcast skies and rain in the forecast.

Brittany Abbott and Ben Kennedy had a beautiful wedding planned in the new Wedding Pavillion at The Georgia Club, a elegant golfing community located just outside of Athens. Brittany and Ben were such a nice looking couple, and, with the lovely facility and surroundings, it was sure to be a day not easily forgotten.

But the weatherman was not cooperating with them. Keeping an eye on the weather radar all day, Brittany and Ben, along with The Georgia Club coordinator and staff, wondered if they would be able to have their dream wedding. Could they get married outside in the Wedding Pavillion, or would they have to move the ceremony inside?

They waited until the last minute to make their decision. The radar showed the front slowing down as it moved towards northeast Georgia, so the ceremony would take place outside as planned.

Although they might have been a little nervous about the weather, it certainly never showed. They proceeded with the event with all the elegance and beauty it deserved.

And did the weather hold off. Y-E-S! Mr. Weatherman cooperated perfectly for the happy couple.

And here are Brittany and Ben's wedding video highlights. I'm sure you will agree that their decision to have the ceremony outside was a perfect one!

Congratulations, Brittany and Ben, on a wonderful and most beautiful (and dry!) wedding day!

A real dog-gone wedding!

September 13, 2008. Thompson House and Gardens, Bogart, Georgia. Beautiful grounds, beautiful day, beautiful people. And....three cute dogs!

Why would Amanda Rodriguez and John Crook have dogs at their wedding? Well, probably because Amanda owns and operates a doggie daycare facility called Pawtropolis in Athens, GA. Dogs are a significant part of her life, and she wouldn't dream of having an important event in her life without her dogs there with her.

So, the dogs got all spiffed up...bows, ribbons, flowers...and took a front row seat to see their mom and dad get married.

Here is a highlights clip from their wedding video. The entire day was very lovely and full of fun. The dogs only made it more so.

Congratulations, Amanda and John, on your marriage and on having a very lovely and wonderful wedding day!

Athens, a Great Place for a Wedding

Melissa Graves and Stephen Katcoff are terrific University of Georgia fans. So much so that they had there ceremony right on the UGA campus in the UGA Chapel, a beautiful historic building in the heart of the campus.

All the photos were taken right on North Campus and in front of the famous University of Georgia Arch. You couldn't ask for a more beautiful background for such a special day.

Their reception was at the Foundry Park Inn, another historic building in Athens. And what a nice party it was!

Here are the highlights from Melissa and Steven's wedding video. You can see what a lovely event they had that day.

Congratulations, Melissa and Steven!

Sister, Sister

Back in 2005, I did the wedding videography for a really nice couple, Cortney and Michael. I enjoyed so much meeting and getting to know this wonderful couple.

Well, last year I received a call from Cortney's sister, Stephanie, asking me to do the wedding videography for her wedding on June 7, 2008. I've said before about how much I enjoy doing weddings for friends and family of former clients, and this is certainly true in this case. It was such a pleasant experience to see Cortney and Michael again.

Of course, the best part of the day was the awesome event that Stephanie and Alex had planned for their wedding day. They were married at The Foundry at Puritan Mill, a lovely historic venue in Atlanta.

Stephanie and Alex's wedding day was not only touching and meaningful, but it also was a lot of fun! Here are the highlights from their special day.

Congratulations, Stephanie and Alex! And thank you for allowing EverWord Media to be a part of your wedding day.

Six, Seven, Eight...popular numbers

June 7, 2008 (06/07/08), was a very popular day for weddings! I had three on that same day, while turning down probably five or six more. This particular wedding was not filmed by me, but was filmed by a videographer who is a subcontractor for me.

He did a great job of filming in this particular church, Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church, which has very strict rules for videographers. Church rules are something we wedding videographers must work with and face on a regular basis. Some churches don't care where we set up cameras, or where we put our mics.

Some churches, however, like Our Lady, tell us exactly where to place our cameras and where we can or can't put our mics. Unfortunately, these rules sometimes prevent us from shooting the best video, but I always strictly follow the church rules. To me, that's a matter of professionalism, courtesy and respect.

This particular shooter (videographer) faced some tough church rules, but did a fantastic job of getting a great video for Mary Bridget and Tim. Here are the highlights from their wedding video.
